There are two engine options, including a 2.5-liter turbo-four and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The 2020 Hyundai Palisade only has one engine option, a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the 2020 Kia Telluride, you will get the exact same engine as the Palisade.

A front-wheel-drive Hyundai Palisade achieves 19/26 mpg, while the Kia Telluride is rated at 20/26 mpg. The GV80 should have very comparable ratings. We will provide the Genesis GV80 MPG ratings once that information becomes available.

Interior Design & Features Comparison

There's no comparison between the GV80 vs. Palisade and the GV80 vs. Telluride when it comes to interior luxury. The new Genesis SUV offers all of the bells and whistles, plus a sophisticated style. It even comes standard with a slim, 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. The 2020 Hyundai Palisade includes an eight-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and several USB ports. In comparison, the Kia Telluride offers a UVO infotainment system, an eight-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, six USB ports and Bluetooth.

Seating Capacity & Cargo Space Comparison

All three SUV models have the capacity to hold between seven and eight people, depending on the configuration chosen. However, the GV80 doesn't come standard with the third row, offering more flexibility. We don't have estimates on the cargo capacity of the Hyundai Genesis SUV yet, but will know more closer to the Genesis GV80 release date. The 2020 Hyundai Palisade contains 18 cubic feet behind the third row, 45.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 86.4 cubic feet when all of the rear seats are folded. In comparison, the Kia Telluride contains 21 cubic feet behind the rear seats, 46 cubic feet behind the second row and 87 cubic feet with all of the seats folded down.

Exterior Dimensions & Design Comparison

The 2021 Genesis GV80 should measure around 194.7 inches long, 77.8 inches wide and 67.5 inches high. In comparison, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade dimensions are 196″ L x 78″ W x 69″ H, while the 2020 Kia Telluride dimensions are 197″ L x 78″ W x 69″ H. These numbers show that the GV80 has a sportier style and offers more agile handling. While 19-inch tires are standard on the Genesis SUV, you can opt for 22-inch instead. The Hyundai and Kia SUVs are only available in 18- and 20-inch tire sizes.

Safety Ratings & Reviews Comparison

We don't have safety ratings of the 2021 Genesis GV80 yet but do know that the model comes standard with a semi-autonomous driving mode, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning. The Hyundai Palisade is an IIHS Top Safety Pick and comes standard with forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, rear occupant alert, lane centering assist, lane keep assist, driver attention monitoring, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and Smart Cruise Control. The 2020 Kia Telluride was also awarded as an IIHS Top Safety Pick and comes standard with a rearview camera, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, blind spot collision avoidance system, brake assist, rear cross traffic alert, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, safe exit assist and driver attention monitor.

Final Pick: GV80, Palisade, or Telluride?

While we are still waiting on the final details about the new GV80 model, it's clear that this luxury SUV is going to offer substantial power and style plus more luxury features than what's seen in either the Palisade or Telluride. Even though it costs slightly more, because it's competing in the luxury segment, it's going to provide a more comfortable ride and upscale feel. We firmly believe that all these factors add up to making the new GV80 the best value of all three SUVs.
